A PCB holder is one of those tools that quickly becomes indispensable once you’ve used one. It securely supports the circuit board while leaving both hands free for placing components and soldering, making assembly easier, more accurate and far less frustrating than trying to balance a board on the bench.
The Weller vice has been in production for many years and remains a popular choice. The board can be rotated to the most comfortable working angle and is held securely by adjustable spring clamps.
Although inexpensive PCB holders are widely available, a sturdy, well-made holder is a worthwhile investment if you regularly assemble electronic kits such as those from MERG. It speeds up assembly, reduces the risk of dry joints caused by movement, and generally makes soldering a much more enjoyable experience.
