Covered Hoppers
Norfolk & Western three-bay covered hopper N&W 176218 stands at the Agway facility in Herkimer, New York, during the mid-1970s. Built by Pullman-Standard in 1970 as part of the N&W 176000–176999 series, the 100-ton car has a capacity of 4,740 cubic feet and was designed for the gravity discharge of bulk commodities such as grain and fertiliser. © Michael Fullerton
