Penmaenpool was a sub-shed of Wrexham’s Croes Newydd in the late 1950s, typically hosting a pannier tank.
Visiting locomotives included GWR 4300 moguls, Ivatt 2MTs, Collett 1400, 2251s, and Manor classes, reflecting a rich and varied Cambrian line working.
Summer specials and pick-up goods traffic were notable features, linking industrial North and Midlands with Cardigan Bay resorts.
